Firwood General Information

All our Timber Frame Packages are engineered and designed to exacting standards, using modern engery saving materials producing a U-Value of 0.39W/M2K and high NHER ratings.

All constructional timbers are kiln dried and stress graded, sourced from Scandinavia or Canada, in CLS sections, and are treated with preservative.

We issue a treatment certificate for total timber protection for life against fungal and insect attack.

The structural members are manufactured under strict quality control, regulated by British Standards, and carry an engineers structural certificate (also when necessary an NHBC Certificate HB 353).

The Firwood Homes pacakage is delivered to site in panel form and under normal circumstances can be erected in 7/10 days with the roof clipped and braced ready for the roof contractor to felt, batten and tile or slate. All windows and door frames can then be added forming a water tight shell ready for internal or external work to begin immediatley.
